Sealing Compound (dab-off type)
For screwed connections in caravan and motorhome construction, reliable sealing is essential—especially where invisible joints are required.
DEKASEAL 8936 is a dab-off, permanently plastic, non-curing sealing compound with high UV and weather resistance. It remains removable even after years, making it ideal for repairs on hatches, doors, side windows, awning rails, and external sockets. Its easy removability makes it perfect for detachable connections.
Application is user-friendly: excess material can be dabbed off easily and without residue, eliminating additional cleaning steps. DEKASEAL 8936 adheres without pre-treatment to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free surfaces and can be applied by hand or with standard dispensers. The compound is not paintable and is used exclusively in combination with mechanical fastening.
Sealing Compound (Paintable)
For visible joints or seals that should remain as protective elements, a stable sealant is essential.
DEKASEAL 1512 is a plastic butyl sealant with skin formation, ideal for applications in visible areas—such as installing roof hatches, cable entries, or sealing panel vans. Thanks to its excellent tooling and smoothing properties (with DEKAFINISHER), the material can be applied precisely and cleanly.
DEKASEAL 1512 offers outstanding adhesion without pre-treatment, remains permanently plastic, is UV- and aging-resistant, and can be painted over. Excess material can be removed with a suitable cleaner (dabbing is not possible). The joint remains detachable, making it perfect for applications where later disassembly is required.
